Press and media
Interviews, data questions, and the facts worth checking before you file.
For interviews, data questions, or checking a figure, write to info@invisiblechildren.org and put your deadline in the subject line. KARA is small and answers press mail quickly.

Where the numbers come from
Any figure KARA publishes should be traceable to a source you can check yourself. The library holds 11,766 cited sources; research and data carries the methodology, and the state-by-state records are at states. If a number on this site does not reconcile, that is a story KARA would rather hear from you than read later.
Interviews
Mike Tikkanen does interviews on child protection policy, the guardian ad litem role, foster care, and what the case data shows. Same address, with your outlet and your deadline.
What KARA will not do
KARA does not put reporters in touch with children, with families in an open case, or with survivors, and does not pass on a request to do so. That is not caution about press: it is the same rule the site applies to itself, set out in the editorial policy, which also covers what KARA publishes about a named child and how a removal request works.
Archive material is a different matter. Two decades of reporting is on the blog, searchable, with every old address still resolving.
