Texas Children Being Thrown Into the River by the Tens of Thousands

Texas GOP 2012 platform seeks elimination of mandatory pre-school & kindergarten & no more teaching of  “higher order thinking skills” or sex education, as these things challenge “student’s fixed beliefs” and “parental authority”.  Add to that the promotion of corporal punishment it appears that Texans are abusing their children enmass.

Should deliberately making children stupid & pregnant* in the 21st century be a crime?

There is nothing happy about how Texans treat children (just recently Texas denied its children federal  money that could have significantly improved their poorly performing schools).  Governor Perry now wants to refuse federal healthcare for his state’s citizens.

For a long time Texas has owned one of the worst graduation rates in the nation & ranks;

*50th in births to teen moms

50th in uninsured children

45th in child abuse deaths

42nd in child welfare expenditures

(according to Geography Matters – Child Well Being in the States)

Let the Governor of Texas know that the rest of the nation is watching (pass this on) :
